Krishna Kanakasapapathi, W4VKU, will headline our online club meeting on March 19 with a fascinating presentation on his one-man activation of the Andaman Islands as VU4A.  This rare and highly sought-after DXCC entity—Andaman Islands—has long presented formidable logistical and technical challenges, and Krish’s 2024 operation was no exception.

Over the years, Krish has successfully led and participated in multiple VU4 and VU7 activations, building a reputation for persistence, ingenuity, and meticulous preparation.  In 2024, he finally overcame the crippling high noise levels that had plagued earlier efforts—an obstacle that had once seemed insurmountable.  Through innovative station design, refined receive strategies, and relentless problem-solving, he transformed a previous nemesis into a defining triumph.

A seasoned technologist from Cary, North Carolina, Krish combines deep technical expertise with the adventurous spirit that defines world-class DXpeditioners.  On our call, he will take attendees behind the scenes of planning, transporting, and operating from one of the most challenging locations in amateur radio—sharing hard-won lessons, technical insights, and unforgettable moments from the pileups.

Whether you’re a veteran DXer or new to the chase, Krish’s presentation promises compelling stories, practical takeaways, and inspiration drawn from the edge of the map.

The ZOOM meeting starts at 7:00pm.  Here's a link to a ZOOM how-to document.
